Through a process of collective support, we improve the cohesion, solidarity and professionalism of a leadership team, a project team, a supervisory team... to improve overall performance.
We go from the principle that teams, like people, can develop by themselves, that "becoming aware" and then active participation in the change process are the real drivers for development which allow behaviours to be improved. Our role, as external coaches, is to assist in individual and collective awareness and to help define and implement the rules for working practices.
Arthur Hunt approach to team developement :
Analysis of the business' strategic environment, of the managerial environment and the team's objectives.
Individual interviews with each member to understand their perception of the managerial system, to determine expectations and motivations in relation to the search for efficiency and the team's work.
Assessment of the environment's role on the team's performance. Individual assessment of members and use of a 360° type questionnaire to show the different perceptions of the members, to help the team see these differences, to interpret them, and to provide the motivation for change.
Feedback to the group, development of an action plan.
Implementation workshops and action plan tracking.
Topics most often covered when supporting teams :
Interactions within the team: deepen knowledge between team members so they understand each other better, measure perceptions and the impact of everyone's attitude on the team's results, develop a "code of conduct" which determine behaviours in meetings and elsewhere.
Ways of working of the team: work rules and methods, decision-making, obtaining a consensus on objectives and shared subjects, development of action plans to give tangible form to the members' commitments to work in the chosen direction.
External relations (colleagues, customers, partners etc): dedicated to improving the team's communication and external relations, the end goal is a coherent set of behaviours and actions relating to listening, communicated information, motivation, checking, etc
