Business Development & Sales Director

Our client is an international company operating in the areas of road, rail and intermodal transport.

Main tasks:

  • Setting and achieving ambitious revenue growth targets
  • Determining local strategies within overall regional or country group context, in terms of products and service levels
  • Overseeing relationships with key and strategic customers
  • Acquiring new and developing existing customers
  • Maintaining and developing products to ensure the company’s growth and development
  • Ensuring sales activities of all sales channels
  • Working on tenders, ensuring timely response and improving hit rate to retain current customers and gain new customers
  • Defining guidelines and business processes for business development/sales/customer service to ensure effectiveness and success in gaining customers and customer care
  • Identifying new service/product opportunities in local markets
  • Managing, maintaining, developing all marketing & communication activities to support sales process, improve customer loyalty and manage brand communication
  • Developing Customer Service business processes, procedures and actively promoting exchange of expertise and communication within the company and its divisions
  • Developing annual plan of business development & sales activities
  • Representing the company to other foreign partners
  • Co-ordinating business activities with all business units’ processes
  • Recruiting, developing and managing the sales and customer service staff
  • Continually reviewing and improving the selling processes
  • Analyzing achievements of tenders
  • Setting service standards within regional framework that meeting or exceeding customer expectations and differentiating the company from competitors
  • Being responsible for the sales staff (tele sales, field sales, KAM)
  • Driving the sales staff to actively acquire new customers
  • Ensuring that monthly reporting is carried out and KPI’s are met
  • Being responsible that all sales activities are visible iSell and that all sales personnel is trained in the usage of iSell
  • Being responsible for the country marketing budget
  • Ensuring development of appropriate account plans for Country Key Accounts and Country MNC’s, act as sponsor where appropriate
  • Determining organizational structure, roles, critical success factors, performance targets and goals of business development & sales team
  • Developing and maintaining a team of competent specialists
  • Staffing, training and motivating the team
  • Reporting to the Managing Director
  • Leading team of Key Account Managers, Field Sales Executives, Customer Service Team, Tele sales, Claims, Complaints & Insurance Specialist, Marketing & Internal Communication

Professional profile:

  • University degree (technical or business discipline preferred)
  • Strong sales and marketing background
  • Experience on a similar position with responsibility for achieving sales plan and KPIs
  • In-depth knowledge of the country freight market, with the ability to interact successfully with major customers
  • PC user (MS Excel – advanced)
  • Actively speaking English language
